Roza Shahrazad
Roza Shahrazad — founder, director, trainer of Shahrazad Dance Co. and performing artist — She holds a number of Egyptian Dance Training Certificates from Egypt, a B.A. in Education, (Cum Laude) from ASU, and aerobics and personal training certifications, and is a member of Council of International Dance (CID) at United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
She has extensively studied the Classical Raqs Sharqi, Modern Cairo style Belly Dance and traditional Egyptian folkloric dances, in Egypt. Roza brings an international perspective to her work and her classes focus on the technical, artistic and cultural dimension. Her international background and training includes living in the Mediterranean region and Middle East for over 10 years and studying the history and culture at Universities where she also studied art, music, and Arabic language.
In Cairo, Egypt, (The Hollywood of Bellydance), Roza studied dance with the most accomplished Middle Eastern Dance Artists in the world, such as co-founder of the worlds top awarded Mahmoud Reda Troupe, Dr. Mo Geddawi, choreography master teacher and event producer Raqia Hassan, current super stars Dina, Randa, Sorraya and Master Teachers, Mona El Said, Momo Kadous, Ahmad Shalaby, Hamada Hosama El Din and Zaza Hassan.
She has studied the foundation of Oriental Dance, Folkloric, in Egypt, taught by Native Professionals, in genres of Sufism, Moroccan, Nubian, Hagallah, Dabke, Saidi and Khaleegi, both in style and music, adding an unparalled knowledge base to draw from.
Keeping the bar high to ensure quality art and building brideges between cultures, is her passion. She is writing a book on Authentic Middle Eastern Dance within the context of the history and culture.
